What are respiratory diseases

Respiratory disease affects one in five people and is the third biggest cause of death in England (after cancer and cardiovascular disease). Lung cancer, pneumonia and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) are the biggest causes of death.

Services for respiratory conditions

EPUT Community Respiratory Service

Essex Partnership University Trust (EPUT NHS) provide the local community services for chronic respiratory conditions. The services include diagnostic spirometry, pulmonary rehabilitation, home oxygen assessment, complex case management and hospital at home care.

The service is available to patients who have been referred by their GP or respiratory consultant, based on suitability criteria. Existing patients can contact the service via the Community Coordination Centre
